PRESENTS
Cerezos en Flor
February 6th & 7th
Curated by Danielle Juliao
Concordia is pleased to present “Cerezos en Flor: iPad Drawings” by Colombian painter Ana Mosseri (b. 1969).
Cherry blossoms symbolize the transitory nature of human existence. The artist depicts them as leafy and exuberant, falling like a poetic drizzle at the approach of summer. The landscapes, ubiquitous and universal, are representative of any place, or rather, a non-place in the sense that they are circumstantial and show little interest in geography.
By welcoming new modalities offered by technology, Mosseri confirms her willingness to experiment, and solidifies her contemporary aesthetic language. Diverging from the prevalent themes of Colombian art, Mosseri offers a unique perspective on life’s cyclical flowering amidst periods of drought.
