PRESENTS
TESTIGOS
November 15th - November 18th
Curated by Danielle Juliao
Concordia is pleased to present Testigos, a solo exhibition featuring recent works by Colombian painter Alex De La Torre.
Through the exploration of universal themes such as identity, self-preservation, and ethics, the artist invites viewers to reflect upon their own relationships with inanimate objects, revealing how they are witnesses of hidden stories and emotions that lie within.
The chosen items depicted in De La Torre’s works subtly allude to his own intimate moments in his hometown, Barranquilla– a coffee machine that tricks the senses, a fire
extinguisher reflecting the tropics, a switch that questions the ownership of ideas and their origins. Testigos invites viewers to consider the profound connection between
mundane routines and their surrounding environments.
