About Salomé Coronel

Salome Coronel currently lives and works in Bogotá. She graduated from a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Fashion with emphasis in Fashion Product from Parsons The New School for Design, New York, New York (2014-2018). Her work is influenced by her current and past realities, prioritizing the documentation of mundane and everyday elements that make up her life in Colombia’s capital city.

Growing up in Quito also exposed Coronel to a variety of baroque architecture buildings commonly used to display realist art, which has had a lasting impact on her body of work. In her artistic practice, she mainly explores (but not limits to) the medium of painting, relying on popular culture scenarios and zooming in on street details to depict her vision.
